Great place to stay while working in Yelowknife. The staff were polite, the room was clean and had a microwave and small fridge. The local brewery is also within a 10 minute walk. The downsides include tight parking, somewhat sketchy entrance and small rooms.
The hotel is conveniently located a short distance from the city center. Independent Grocer & Shoppers Drug Mart are within walking distance. There is a restaurant on site. Center Square Mall is also close by. Old town is also within walking distance.
Clean and tidy. I like the bathroom design the most. As in an Aurora viewing town, it tends to get a little noisy after 2am. People are quite nice around here too.
Not a good experience. I'm the last person to complain about stuff but it gets a little hard when you get to the room and it's 30 degrees outside and there no ac unit. My husband was feeling ill from the heat so we thought he could lay down in a cool room for a while. Not so..The bathroom garbage was right full, there was sticky candy open on the windowsill, and we had to ask and wait for toilet paper.... all bearable stuff if you're staying at an 80 dollar orange door hotel, but super disappointing when you're at a reputable Days Inn and spending $200! So after a couple hours they came and installed an ac window unit which was wonderful, and they gave us 20 dollars off our rate.... the beds were clean and comfortable.
This is very convenient hotel for visitors as near the center of downtown. Only issue is servicing is only so-so.
