Friendly staff and reasonable prices
Glen's Independent has one of the best lunch deals in town: fresh vegetables prepared in store + quarter chicken for less than $6.00 is awesome. Also I complained about the lack of good bread at the store and they began carrying Dave's Killer Bread. Which is delicious. Groceries for the people gets 5 stars.
I believe Indepent supermarket is the only one here in yellowknife so there is no other supermarket that you can campare it with. It serves its purpose to the people in yellowknife. The place is organize and a lot of choices. In terms of freshness of the meats, i would say not so much because first the location, secondly the time frame they deliver rhe products. Overall, it is a supermarket and you will still enjoy buying your grocery over there.

Very friendly and helpful staff, shelves are often well stocked and their hot food counter is always fresh. This is in a great location for all the downtown workers to grab a quick bite to eat, or do a quick shopping trip.
